I walked the Somport route last autumn, and there was no sign of any dam or other hydraulic construction likely to flood the Camino anytime in the near future. Part of the ancient Camino trace was flooded many years ago by the completion of the Yesa dam and filling of its reservoir. The route was relocated, and now the Camino does not even come very close to the reservoir.

A much greater threat to the Camino over the Somport pass and down into Aragon is a new highway tunnel currently under construction. When it is complete, there will be a massive increase in the amount of road traffic through the Pyrenees from Hesca to Pau. I saw no evidence the Camino route itself will be directly impacted, but the increase in noise from highway traffic cannot but make unpleasant what is presently a most pleasant and beautiful way to get from France into Spain.
