<HTML><FONT FACE=arial,helvetica><FONT SIZE=2>Dear Howard and all: We just received the news that a pilgrim recently died on the camino. Granted, it may have been a sudden death, but if it wasn't, a cell phone may have saved his life. Just a thought. To me it just makes sense, to you it may not.

<BR> Another thought: It's natural for some of us to get upset by the intrusive ring of a cell phone, but since we don't know what the other person's life is all about, we should always assume the best intentions and even a real need on his part for the call. A little compassion goes a long way. If you are at peace within yourself, no one and no thing can take it away. This may sound a little preachy, but I don't mean it to be so. I hope I didn't offend anyone.

<BR>Other thoughts about cell phones and 9/11: I wonder how many people were able to call loved ones before they died because they had a cell phone. I wonder how many survivors were able to immediately call loved ones to tell them they were ok so that they wouldn't worry. I consider modern technology a gift from God. Just because a few abuse these gifts, doesn't mean we must reject the right use of them.

<BR>I've had these thoughts for a while but didn't share them bcause to me they are just plain common sense. If others do not see it the way I do, I have learned that nothing I say will change that, but now I felt it was important to express myself so that others who may feel the way I do will not be discouraged from bringing a cell phone because of only hearing one side of the issue. Again, I hope I am not offending anyone.
