When I walked the Camino this past October, I used the Friends credencial with its limited number of spaces for sellos. As it was my second walk, I was not too concerned about receiving a Compostela, but I did apply for it when I arrived in Santiago. The young woman at the Pilgrim Office granted me that certificate after an almost cursory look at my credencial, (missing stamps for at least three nights as one refugio (Granon) did not have a sello, and I forgot to get sellos on two others). When I asked about the double sello requirement, the woman at the pilgrim office was puzzled and said she did not know anything about it. As at least one other correspondent has noted, perhaps the requirement is only applied to those walking the final 100 kms.
