been down this road before, but "Compostela" probably does NOT mean (or come
from Latin meaning) "Campo de Estrellas / Field of Stars". There has been a lot
of ink shed about this (see Davidson & Dunn bibliography on the Camino), but
it seems etymologically more sound to believe that it comes from Latin meaning
"compositum" which probably refers to a small burial ground. Indeed, we know
that there are other remains under the Cathedral at Santiago, not just those of
St. James and his 2 disciples.</SPAN></FONT></DIV>
