Some time ago a question was posted about the title of the German guide, an excellent one with good maps, lots of detail about the routes and facilities, and current (2001 publication date) information. It is:

Hoellhuber, Dietrich, Wandern auf dem Spanischen Jakobsweg. Koeln: Dumont Aktiv, ISBN 3 7701 5428 2 (pardon the lack of umlauts, but I am typing this on a Spanish keyboard and am not sure how to put them in thus Hoelhuber).

the website is: http://www.dumontverlag.de

The same book is translated into Dutch and is equally good, if you can read Dutch. I do not have the publication information for it at the moment, but I will post the information if I can locate it.
