<P>I've been known to go across the world with just a toothbrush. No problem with traveling light. Where did you buy the Salaman boots? And what did you mean by the "and no blisters but ? " Are there different variations of this boot-high or no ankle support? You really carried a small day back the entire way???? What brand did you use for your pack, not that it matters, but I just want an idea.</P>
<P>thanks for the tips, Robin!</P>

<DIV></DIV>>1. Water is heavy, and can be topped up in almost every village, so I'd take 2 litres in seperate plastic bottles (balance) and drink fully at every fountain (it's easier to carry that way)
<DIV></DIV>>2. SMALL daypack/backpack - you'll only fill it!
<DIV></DIV>>3. One small knife/corkscrew.
<DIV></DIV>>4. I had Salaman boots and no blisters but ?
<DIV></DIV>>5. take the absolute minimum. This is not a wilderness walk and anything you find you need you can buy on the way. I never found anyone saying "I wish I'd brought more..."

<DIV></DIV>>enjoy the packing

<DIV></DIV>> So much to buy, so little space to carry it :^) We've got all kinds of sales going on for camping equipment/summer stuff. With that in mind...I've got some questions.
<DIV></DIV>> 1. Carrying water???? Camelback? Suggestions. And what size container?
<DIV></DIV>> 2. Medium size backpack or large? I've seen some of your suggestions and most were not comfortable for me when i tried them on. Any buying tips for backpacks? I'm 5'4 and a woman if that helps anyone with size.
<DIV></DIV>> 3. Knives? Swiss? big/small?
<DIV></DIV>> 4. Tried on a million boots and have not had any luck with soft boots, most recommended by sales people. I think they just want my money :^) Help!!
<DIV></DIV>> 5. I'm about to invest in some cool Chaco sandals. I highly recommend those, but they are sooo pricey. They can resole those sandals for little cost. Will last a life time. Sorry, wasn't a question.
<DIV></DIV>> I think that's it for now. I thank you all!
<DIV></DIV>> peace out,
<DIV></DIV>> Rae
