<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>My name is Eileen Hamer and I'm hoping to make the journey from St. Jean Pied de Port to Santiago starting in Sept. 2002. Oliver de Merlimond made the pilgrimage in the 12th century and brought ideas for sculpture back to Wales (my dissertation, 12th c. seigneurial churches, Hereforedhire School), and ever since I read his account, I've wanted to follow. I'm no longer an academic, left for the cleaner field of real estate, now have time, so . . . It will take me a year to lose weight, train and generally prepare. Reading all your comments is inspiring and I'll need it in this year to keep working toward the day I head for O'hare Airport! I just got a great book (I hope) from Telegraph Online: Aga Skrodzka, "The Village to Village Guiide for Pilgrims Walking the Camino Santiago," 2002 edition. Is it a good book? Certainly seems so, very detailed and (I hope) accurate. &n!
