Several recent postings concerned problems of jet lag and beginning the camino walk shortly after disembarking off an overnight flight from North America. If one has trouble sleeping on planes and is willing to take a prescription medication, there is a trade-named drug called Ambien which works very well to allow sleep. It does not have any significant after-effects. Most physicians are willing to prescribe a pill or two for those taking long air trips. Two words of advice if you should use it, however, 1) do not have any alcoholic beverages on the flight and 2) be prepared to fall asleep rapidly after taking the pill.
