Hi,
That may be the case in Portugal, in France it is €300, but be careful 
it also depends on the policy of the issuing bank. For example most UK 
banks restrict drawings to £250 per day which currently amounts to €310. 
So best check on your bank's policy before you travel.
All that appears to be simple is not so I find.
