Pope John Paul II was lovingly called the people's pope; Catholics around the world mourned his passing.

Five years after his death, the Vatican is preparing for his beatification, and it plans to do so in a uniquely modern way.

In honor of his beatification, Pope John Paul II is getting his own Facebook page. 
 
The page will have videos and photos of the late pope.

The Vatican says the page may endure even after the May 1 beatification.
