Hi Bob, and all,
To echo the sentiments of so many subscribers to these lists, I am more than delighted that the misposted message purporting to request your insubordination from the lists was a techno-snafu.
For one, I have thoughroughly enjoyed every step of your pilgrimage and have suffered its difficulties with you. In fact, I've printed and kept your messages which I very rarely. if ever, do.
In my recent visit to Santiago, the Apostle had been displaced, albeit temporarily, by SanXavi, or San-anyone of the 23 players in the Spain World Cup team. While emotion is as much a part of Spain as bread and wine, I have never seen such national euphoria, tension, preoccupation and total involvement.
While Spain has participated in many World Cup tournaments, it has never distinguished itself in a noteworthy manner. This year, however, the team came to the "Mundial" after winning the European Cup and winning 38 of the 39 pre-Cup international games played by the national team. Alas! they lost the first World Cup game to unheralded Switzerland 3-0. They will play again this afternoon (in two hours) against Honduras and, hopefully, the first-game jitters will have been overcome by them. Nothing else, absolutely nothing is the subject of conversation among my Spanish friends relatives and acquiantances at this time, nor has it been since June 11.
So that this message will not seem completely off-topic, I'd like to add that upward of one million Spaniards have solemnly vowed to walk the Camino if Spain wins the Cup. (You might remember that a few years ago Queen Sofia herself, accompanied by 300 government and civil guard people, walked part of the Camino after her native country, Greece, won the European cup.)
Well, let's wish our beloved Spain some luck this afternoon, heaven knows that the Spanish national team has the talent to do so, and then some.
Hugs!
Rosina

r Spenger,
have no idea what message I am supposed to have sent, as Although a Pilgrim
yself (Compostela in 2004) and avid fan of the group )especially Rosina¨s
essages) I have never sent a response. I have enjoyed your blow-by-blow
escription of your travelling travails, an would never dream of an unkind
omment as someone has apparently done in my name.
ongratulations on your accomplishment.
incerely,

Lydia,
I did not send that message. I believe that it was sent by a Benjamin
illaran. For some reason he sent it as a reply to my own message, which was
uoted. I was tempted to respond to his message with an explanation of the
orrect way to unsubscribe from Yahoo groups. I refrained from doing this, since
considered it to be very likely that he had sent it because he didn't like my
essages.
Thank you for your kind words. For the most part, there has been very few
esponses to my series about my recent GR 653 trip. Fortunately, on the same day
hat the "unsubscribe" message was sent, there was a very positive response that
howed up in the Concept 2 (the company that makes the indoor rowing machines)
orum. Now on that one, my stories about my walk were definitely off topic, so a
omplaint would have been quite apropos. I did set it up as a well-labeled
hread ("A Sorry, Soggy Saga") and prefaced the thread with a caveat that it was
ot about rowing and that objectors should just ignore it. That is why I was
specially pleased to get a nice response from one of that forum's members (his
econd, actually).

Say it isn't so. I really enjoyed Bob's latest travel adventure. He has been
such an inspiration. We are seriously considering walking from Lourdes in
September. Whenever we go, Bob will be with us, urging us on. Thank you,
Uncle Bob.
