I feel very fortunate to have been able to put my hand on that hand print that was touched by so many pilgrims. For me it was a more moving experience than any other of the traditions at the cathedral. I felt connected through the many, many years with kindred spirits. It is a shame that others will not be able to have that same opportunity. What are the authorities worried about?

> The feast of Saint James is fast upon us. I procured a music video DVD of the Pop/Gregorian Chant group "Gregorian" in Santiago de Compostela. Check out this abridged 13 minute video as it pans and zooms through the Catedral de Santiago.

> Note the Tree of Jesse being accessible, as well as bumping heads with Maestro Mateo. That entire area is permanently cordoned off now, and the 'traditions' have been stopped.

> The video plays very smoothly if you have a good Internet connection and a reasonable video card in your computer. The next best thing to being there. Speakers on!
