Hello you all,

125,141 pilgrims earned the Compostela during the year 2008. They came from the following one hundred and eight countries:

The pilgrims commenced their pilgrimage In 130 different points among them:

20,853 of the pilgrims started out in Sarria; 15,763 in SJPP; 9,172 in Roncesvalles; 8,216 in Leon; 7,874 in O Cebreiro; 6,644 in Ponferrada; 5,050 in Astorga; 4.327 in Pamplona; 3,416 in TUI; 3,179 in Burgos; 2,828 in LE PUY; 2,503 in Oporto; 2,216 in Villafranca, 2,086 in Oviedo; 1,961 in several points in France; 1,703 in Sevilla…… etc

Among surprising points of departure for the pilgrims there were:

 733 that walked r bicycled all the way from Holland; 720 from Germany; 331 from Switzerland; 230 from Belgium; 180 from Lourdes; 148 from Arles; 72 from Austria; 69 from Paris; 62 from several points in Italy; 35 from Rome; 29 from Ireland; 10 from Poland; 6 from Chekoslovkia; 2  from Greece; 2 from Luxemburg; I from Denmark; 1 from Finland; 1 from Hungary and 1 from Jerusalem (!)

98,729 of the pilgrims followed the Camino Frances; 1,451 the Camino Ingles; 104 walked the Muxia-Fisterre route; 7,035 followed the Camino del Norte; 9,770 the Portuguese; 2,719 the Primitive; 5,104 the Via de la Plata and 229 walked other routes.
