[Gocamino] The "burning" of the Cathedral

Hello you all,
Last July 24th at 11:00 p.m., Mari, the lovely young woman who manages the Pilgrims Office in Santiago took me to see the "burning" of the Cathedral. We stood in Obradoiro with very many thousands of people while the 60 minute "burning" went on. The place was absolutely packed.? While standing in one place,?unable to move, Mari took a lot of pictures which our esteemed and talented electronic guru, Grant, has compiled and put in YouTube with complementary music and titles? they are so evocative that I can almost smell the sulphur and feel the burning sparks falling all over?my hair and clothes.

Reportedly, last July was the last of such "burnings" because that?much fire,? and smoke, and firework missiles exploding, over and over, against the venerable Cathedral walls, statues, window panes, etc., have?been found, unsurprisingly,?to cause serious damage.?It has now been decided that such extravagant displays will no longer take place.? 
While the spectacle was extraordinary, stunning and unforgettable,?it is far more important, I think, to protect the ancient, and beautiful, Cathedral edifice that we is a cherised home to pilgrims.?
