[Gocamino] Pilgrims and SJPP

Hello you all,

The Friends Association of the Pyrenees Atlantiques has published information about the 2007 pilgrims going through Saint Jean Pied de Port (Saint John foot of the entry):

31,880 pilgrims went through SJPP; 24.5% of them were French,  17.7% German and Austrian, 11.4% Spaniards and the rest came from many other countries.

 

75% of the pilgrims commenced their pilgrimage in SJPP and the others in various sites, mostly in France, Germany, Austria an Italy.  The data confirm the preference of places like Le Puy, SJPP and Roncesvalles as the starting-out point for many pilgrims.

 

The friends’ report also contains information for those interested in becoming hospitaleros in the Grand Palais albergue or the pilgrims welcoming center in SJPP.
