At 57 I made the Camino in May, starting on April 29. It was cold
with some days of rain at the begining, going down from the mountains
to the Ebro valley and up to the Castilla's high tableland; as I
crossed Castilla it got warmer, and Galicia was sunny in the last
days of May.
Have a look to : http://www.barefooters.org/gallery/pilgrimage/

to see the conditions.
I met problems to find a place into a pilgrim's albergue only thrice
- not bad for a holy year - and I believe that going alone makes
easier to find a place, because I saw that the larger the group, more
necessity they had to make reservations well in advance.
From the green shores of summertime, Buen Camino!
