A wonderful Colonial carving of Santiago Matamoros, or Saint James the
Greater. He rides a white steed and tramples a Moor, as he is often shown
doing, who is painted onto the base beneath the horse's hooves. This piece
is illustrated in the book Saints and Sinners on page , and is an excellent
example of this subject.  $2800.
