Hello,
My husband and I took the bus from Santiago de Compostela to Lisbon. It
took about 8 hours. Hopefully, there is a bus running from Lisbon early
enough to get you to Santiago in time. Good Luck!

Sandra Hubbard

When I was in Roncesvalles last year I photographed a geometric relief in
the wall next to the entrance to the cloisters. It looked like a medieval
exercise in Euclidean geometry to me. I photographed the relief but should
have also photographed the wall to show it in context.
Please could someone passing through photograph the wall for me? Have been
quite fascinated by the idea that a medieval mason knew his Euclid - or is
it a modern tease?
Would love to hear an opinion from anyone interested enough to take a look.

Patricia, we are doing the Le Puy route in segments. Started in
April-May and got to Figeac, last year in Sept went from Figeac to
Aire-Sur... and this fall will go from Aire to Roncesvalles where we
started our 2001 pilgrimage. We used train from Paris as Kathy
suggested. We put most of our France info on our 3rd camino page

Hello,
My husband and I are thinking about starting from Vezelay in May. Has
anyone out there started from this point? We will only walk for about 10
days or so, probably to Saint-Amand-Montrond. I just purchased the French
Sentier vers Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle via Vezelay book, but I would like
to hear from anyone who has walked this chemin recently.
  Thanks so much.
  Louise G.

Hi Louise,

There is a member of American Pilgrims who lives just outside of Vezelay and
wants very much to be in contact with pilgrims who travel the Vezelay Route.
She and her husband have done the route and she belongs to the "Amis &
Pelerins de St. Jacques de la Voie de Vezalay. I will send you her address
off-line

In the mean time, when you do go, be sure to look for the hound, the acrobat
and the mermaid on the tympanum of the Cathedral...wonderful....and of
course the Cathedral is pretty marvelous and filed with light!

Kathy

It is not right to share e-mail addresses over a list service and I
apologize that my e-mail to the person inquiring about Vezalay rec'd
information in a public way.

I ask that the entry be deleted.

Thank you,
and apologies for an accidental keystroke
