In 2003 I made three walking sticks from Bamboo, hardy and light. Taped the bottom with Duct Tape. Put them in a PVC pipe from Home Depot. Capped both ends and booked them from Philadelphia to Madrid. When we put our luggage into the rental car I took out the sticks and left a very good piece of PVC pipe for a lucky person.
