[Gocamino] The fires

Hello you all,
Kat Gower (pilgrimaging in France towards SJPP) wonders why so many disgraces have befalled Galicia.  First, that awful oil-spill that nearly killed their molusk industry for years..... and took so very many years to recover from.  Then the fires which have destroyed nearly 5% of Galicia´s productive land, flora and fauna, and now the incomprehensible train-crash (the train driver had neither alcohol nor drugs in his system) in which half of the fatalities were committed Santiago pilgrims.
It seems that for many years developers, mostly from other countries asnd continents, have been rebuffed in their efforts to be allowed to build hotels and other vacationing resorts and some of the most scenic areas of Galicia.  It was precisely in those areas that the fires occured..... almost as though they had been traced on a developer´s map.
While in this spirallly deterioraring world of us destructive outrages do not surprise anymore. (just think of the murderous excesses in Lebanon).... the heart grieves and grieves deeply nevertheless.
