[Gocamino] Spanish train crash

 Hello,
About one third of the people in the derailed train were pilgrims returning from the Camino. Jose Manzano and Julian Campos perished in the accident. They were returning from hospitalero duties in Castrojeriz.
Julian Campos had spent most of his life volunteering in worthy causes, principally in Calcutta where he received training as a nurse. Other four people died and about forty were injured.... none, thankfully, gravely.
The train derailed between Palencia and Valleda as it made a curve at an excessive speed (reportedly 40 kms. per hour)
There have been previous train accidents in the area because of the sineous terrain. The tracks, of course, may be too old.
It is, indeed, terribly, terribly sad.
Regards,
Rosina

Subject: [Gocamino] Spanish train crash

Reuters is reporting a crash in Spain of a train carrying 426
passengers, including foreign pilgrims returning from SdeComp.
At present, Spanish authorities are saying six killed, 36 injured.
The train was heading to Hendaye and crashed on a bend near Villada.
Authorities said it had been going too fast.
Sad news.
