Hello you all,
Tomorrow's edition of the Galician daily "La Voz de Galicia" reports that the Xunta has opened the Santiago airport, Lavacolla, to yet more low-cost domestic and international travel. Accordingly, the newspaper states that Air Berlin (Germany's No. 2 airline) is planning direct daily flights from a German City, perhaps Frankfurt, to Santiago.
This will be the first time that a German airline will schedule flights to Galicia. While passengers to and from Santiago will make a stop at Palma de Mallorca the passengers will not be required to change planes.
Presumably, and following recent trends, the cost of the flights will be fairly low.
....In regards to the 35 Euros that Iberia will charge for round trip Barcelona-Santiago tickets, I should tell you that the present cost of a round trip Seville-Santiago ticket is 460 Euros or $648. US Dollars!
and... the dollar has fallen again vis a vis the Euro.
Sigh!
Best regards,
Rosina
