Browsing in a local CD store, I found a lovely new CD of music from the cathedrals of Galicia, mostly from the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela:

Coro Ultreia de Pontevedra. Hic est Chorus. Música Litúrgica de las Catedrales del Reyno de Galicia. Barcelona: Harmonia Mundi Ibérica. HMI 967043. www.harmoniamundi.com<http://www.harmoniamundi.com/>

To quote the CD cover:

"Liturgical Music from the Cathedrals of the Kingdom of Galicia. After many years of work dedicated to the recuperation of vocal music from medieval codices, the Coro Ultreia brings to life in this recording the repertory of the Galician cathedrals, whose universe revolved around Santiago de Compostela. From medieval monody to the classical-romantic period, the members of the choir, accompanied by the organ in certain pieces, perform key works for the liturgical calendar."

The CD includes examples of music one might have heard on arrival at Santiago from the 12th to the 20th centuries, and the Coro Ultreia has a fine sound. This CD is recommended for anyone with an interest in music related to the Camino
