All the 'normal' battery configurations are international. You will have 
little to no problem finding AAA and AA batteries in Spain. Bars, markets 
and general stores will all have them available.

Out of curiosity, what is the water purfier about? Sounds like it might 
weigh more than it's worth. Fountains are pretty drinkable, and bottled 
water is available everywhere. Nobody, and I mean NObody drinks from the 
rivers or streams. There is only one 17 km leg without fountains, and it is 
usually done from early morning until early afternoon. If you have a unique 
gastoentestinal condition which requires you to RO the water, OK. Otherwise 
it sounds like one of those things that gets left behind somewhere along the 
Way.
