Hola,
Yesterday, 56 year old Pablo R. Santana of the Canary Islands completed his
pilgrimage to Santiago. Mr. Santana made the pilgrimage running instead of
walking. He ran all the 150 kilometers from Tricastela, and said that he had done
so as part of his prayers for the health of a friend who had undergone an
operation for a cancerous brain tumor.

The Pilgrims' museum in Santiago will open an exposition covering the
pilgrimage to Santiago of Cosme (Cosimo to us) de Medici from Florence to Santiago.
The exhibition will contain 154 pieces, gathered from as far as the Ukraine.
Among them the famous painting "Arrest of Christ" by Caravaggio will be
shown.
The purpose of the exhibition is an attempt to recreate the ways in which
pilgrims traveled during the Renaissance, and perhaps to understand the state of
mind of eminent pilgrims, such as Cosme de Medici, through the books he read,
the sites he visited and the music he heard. The exhibition is to be one of
the greatest in Europe this autumn, and will run from the 15th of October until
the 17th of January, 2005.
The pilgrims' museum, as we all know, is located just behind the Cathedral.
Also, it has been announced that Santiago has been selected as the site for
the "Premio Europa" functions and celebrations next year.
Regards,
Rosina
