Mr. David Gitlitz will give a talk for which a title has not been provided, but advance publicity states:

"In Conjunction with SAM's exhibition, "Spain in the age of Exploration, 1492-1819," the historian and author of Society and Deceit: The Religion of the Crypto-Jews examines the Iberian Jewish communities on the eve of the Expulsion, their roles in the discovery, conquest, and settlement of the New World, and their eventual fate."

While the description does not promise much in the way of discussion of Camino related matters, Mr. Gitlitz is the lead author of a guidebook for cultural tourists on the Camino.

The talk is free with tickets available at the door, and it is scheduled:

Thursday 2 December 2004 at 7:30 pm

Nordstrom Auditorium, Seattle Art Museum (SAM)

100 University Street

Seattle.

The talk is jointly sponsored by the Museum, the Seattle Public Library, the King County Library System, and a Jewish cultural association called Nextbook.
