In '01 I presented my credencia at the Iberia office just off the end of
Rua do Vilar and got a one way fare to London for $75.00.

I had a pretty good price on the flight from Santiago to Madrid on
Iberian last June. I booked it from my hotel when I reached Santiago. I
was not able to use the Credential discount because you have to go to
the airport to show them your Credential. But they had a good sale going
on at the time, which was actually better than the Credential price
would have been. They have an English speakers' phone number also, which
my hotel gave me.

Flying from Santiago to Madrid is probably the best way to reach Madrid,
at
least it is the most comfortable one.
The Compostela gives you the possibility to have a discount on Iberia
flights inside of Spain. But as the flight Santiago-Madrid can be
terribly
expensive if not booked in advance, the Compostela-discount is not, in
my
opinion, so useful.
You might check whether there are Spanish low cost companies that serve
the
Santiago-Madrid route, I think there should be at least one.
Buen Camino,

Claudia
