Transportation to Sarria

The easiest way, of course, would be to fly to Santiago and take to bus to Sarria. But that would rob you of the one-in-a-lifetime significance and wonder of arriving at Santiago for the first time like a pilgrim: on foot. Perhaps you can fly to Leon or Ponferrada and take the bus from there to Sarria.  The buses in Spain are inexpensive, convenient, comfortable and go anywhere with frequency. Also, the bus stations tend to be within easy reach of almost anywhere in the city.
Personally, I much prefer the buses in Spain over trains. (Not so in Italy, definitely).
