I asked the same question a few years ago in Spain. As far as I could
tell (or any one else could tell me) there was no significant or even
recorded activity. Holy year 1948 drew some pilgrims apparently.

Does anyone have any information about usage of the Camino during the
Spanish Civil War and, later, during World War II. Specifically, were
there any pilgrims traveling on the Camino during those times, or was it
something forgotten? What about refugees?
