sometimes too hot the eye of heaven shines

Hello,

Personally I'd suggest a light poncho (they are inexpensive and very compact). I used one in the spring and was so glad I didn't invest in the heavier kind (it can get warm under there!!).

I walked with a girl from Korea who carried an umbrella and it became awkward for her.

When I was ready to say good bye to my poncho I left it at a donation box for Pilgrims.

Buen Camino!

I leave for the camino in four weeks and have read that it is sometimes
quite warm at that time even though raining; it was suggested that
typical rainwear might be too hot and that an umbrella is a useful
  addition or alternative. Opinions welcomed.
