Go visit the Cluny and contemplate the myriad of coquilles there...

I've only walked from LePuy, but the Bishop of LePuy, Godescalc was one of
the first to make a pilgrimage before the first millenium.  The Cathedral
there is wonderful (Black Madonna, fever stone, etc.), but then Vezelay has
a marvelous Cathedral to the Magdalene.

Such choices!  Also go to the Veiux Campeur in the Latin Quater that sells
the GR guidebooks and get inspired by the actual route maps themselves, too.
(there are about 50 Au veiux campuers...)

hello all...I have taken steps to begin my walk. i am
in paris now and conteplating a start from vezelay or
