Pilgrim Get-together in the UK

Great idea Sue!

Let me know when the American reunion takes place! As you already know, the Lake District gets more than it's fair share of rain so we need to plan this very carefully. With the right team we could really make this a weekend to remember! It could also get a lot of press if done right too!

I would be delighted if you could attend and share your stories!

Jason,
This is a fantastic idea that I would love to attend. I have been to Windermere and it is gloriously beautiful. Off season would be good for the overseas travelers since flying and accommodation is cheaper and easier to book. It's a good idea to have some technical advise and a slide show to show the beauty of the architecture and scenery, and of course the pilgrim's life. It's always good to hear about the historical aspects of the Camino too and I am sure there are many experts to draw upon.
Another idea would be to share inspirational stories of personal journeys. If you need a storyteller, I would welcome the chance to share stories from my spiritual journey to self love as a woman walking the Camino alone in the winter.
There is another pilgrim's reunion that is organized in the US and we should find out when that takes place to avoid a conflicting date.
And so a journey begins...

Should we organise a Pilgrim get-together in England? If so what month would be suitable for all? Where should we hold it? Would a weekend be more suitable? Should I invite the local mountain rescue team and adventure equipment specialist to give a talk on equipment and safety? Can we organise a slide show? Spanish wine and food tasting? If so Ambleside or Windermere in the heart of the English Lake District would be an ideal place to hold it, and I have some good connections there too!
A mass Pilgrim walk could also be arranged, simulating the crossing to Roncesvalles? Should we have a rehearsal? Your feedback, help and advice would be greatly appreciated!
We could also invite members of the Confraternity of St James and make it a combined effort?
