Response to e-mails

Is it possible for those responding to messages by people trying to exit
the group to do so directly? By sending a message to the whole group they
repeat the problem. I understand that some of those trying to leave may be
relatives of members no longer with us who will have no knowledge of the
group and its ways and just want to stop the e-mails comming in.
