walking in March

Greetings,

Has anyone started the walk to Santiago at the very end of February and
into March, starting in SJPP? Is the weather likely to be impossibly cold
or the paths covered with snow? I'm having a hard time getting any
information about the range of temperatures and precipitation one might
encounter.

On one Web site I did read that bicyclists should absolutely NOT go in the
winter. If March is regarded as winter, do you think that advice would
apply to pilgrims on foot as well?

I'll appreciate any help or advice.

Thanks,
Karin
