Toilet facilities

I am planning my pilgrimage to commence in mid-September. Indeed I will be disillusioned should I find such a spiritual place polluted with human waste. I am anxious to hear comments from others who have recently been on the Camino about the potential sanitary problem expressed by Maura.

Most refugios have toilets, even if very basic and sometimes too few for the
number of pilgrims. Most bars have toilets. It is a good idea to carry some
toilet paper as sometimes refugios and bars run short. Unfortunately along
the walk there are no public facilities, and you can see bits of white toilet
paper every where. I forecast a public health problem in the coming months
of July and August...and as the camino becomes more popular.
