Hello everyone, I'm new

If you don't like heat and you don't like crowds, I suggest that you go this
fall, perhaps October. 2004 is a holy year, so there will be around 4 times
as many people as a "less-holy" year. I went in March-April 2002,
because I don't like crowds either. I actually walked the first day and a half
before I saw another pilgrim, but then I was on the route less traveled, and
part of the time I was lost and off route!

Sarria is a little more than 100km from Santiago, and a sizable city, so a
logical starting point, should not be difficult to get there by public
transportation. If you really want to avoid crowds you could walk a section
further from Santiago. I think that the closer you get to Santiago the more
people there are. Lots of people walk it in sections, a week or two at a
time, so you could walk a segment this year and another some other year.
