 I'm sure that thievery happens, but my experience on
the camino was the opposite.  People if anything were
TOO trusting in the albergues, but there does seem to
be honour among pilgrims.  I never saw anything
stolen.  There was however an announcement in the
newpaper in the Pyrenees about a female pilgrim being
sexually assaulted.
