I am 5' 2'' (1, 58 m) and I always have carried until 10 kilos for periods of 6-7 hours average, in not very steep paths (I weight 49-50 kilos which is more or less 110 pounds) but at that time (about 4 years ago) I was in very good shape and was pretty resilient -and also were 23, which makes things easier-. That would represent little more than 20 % of my weight, being 5 kl the 10 %, and there is no way I could bring the minimum gear I need in a package that weights about 5 kilos. I'll try not to carry more than 8 kls. I have to cross the Pyrenees. I hope my husband can carry the tent. !! I love the support at the back of my Tundra back pack, but it is too heavy on its own as it has a metallic structure keeping it steady.I am still looking for the righ back pack and shoes!! But most backpacks are for tal women !!
