If you go to a store that sells lots of packs, they should help you measure
your back and find a pack that rests just where it should with straps in the
right place. They should even have sand bags to help you decide how the pack
feels with weight. Then, if you are a tightwad like me, you can go order the
pack from campmor or sierra! :-)
I would rather have a pack that fits exactly right and keeps the weight
where it should be, even if it weighs 2 or 3 pounds more. If the pack is
pulling down on your shoulders or stressing your spine wrongly, or bruising
your hipbones, it can really turn into a burden.
