Hi Anthony,
You mention that your research disclosed that St. Francis did go to Santiago
in the thirteenth century.  What did your research consist of?
There are a great many contradictory reports about St. Francis' pilgrimage
and much scholastic skepticism about its historic veracity, even among some
Roman Catholic Academicians in Spain itself.
I'd be grateful to know what you learned.
