At the present time, dear Pieter, one dollar is a bout 75 "centimes": of an
Euro, which means that an Euro is about $1.25 US dollars more or less.
In Santiago two weeks ago, though, the Euro was about $1.27 U.S. Dollars.
Bills are coming in for the credit card charges  made in Santiago in Euros two
weeks ago are being charged,on the average, at about  $1.27 US Dlls. per Euro.
Alas, (for us in the USA), the $3,000 Dlls. for 2,500 Euros is not a typo.
