www.renfe.es - if you want the schedule beforehand.

By the way, if you`re going directly to Leon after you
land in Madrid, you can walk to the metro station from
within the airport and catch that to the train
station. There are two train stations in Madrid: The
one you want is Chamartin (trains to northern points).
There might be a transfer of metro trains to get there
(I believe there`s at least one), but don`t worry -
the metro signs are very easy to follow. Each route is
color-coded. The metro stop itself is "Chamartin."
Just follow the signs after you land. Ask at the "i"
(information desk at the airport) if you`re confused.
They`ll know enough English to help you or can call
someone who does.

I went to Pamplona this way three hours after landing
at Barajas in 2000.
