Sandals???

I'm just returned from my third Camino.... Well, in body anyway....., my
heart and much of me will linger there for quite a while.
Since I bicycled, footwear did not concern me; I wore sneakers all the way.
But, because the subject was ubiquitous throughout, I had to notice that a
pilgrim's physical size makes a lot of difference. Those many female pilgrims
I met that would be considered thin, our size 8 or below, walked away miles
and miles wearing tennis shoes and the like without blisters, or any like foot
problems. Bigger-sized pilgrims seemed to be more durable in boots or
shoes that offered ankle-support and the like. I suppose that, gravity-wise, it
makes a lot of sense.
I myself am a heftyish size 10, but, as mentioned, I did not walk, I rode a
bicycle.
Stealthily, the desire to really walk the Camino, sole on soil, has come
over me. When I really prepare to do it I'll work out to come down a size or
two.
Warm salutations,
Liz
