September camino

A flashlight is very handy in the Alburgue early in the morning and also if you start out much before dawn. .Just a small pen sized one worked well for me.
I checked a disposable bag on the plane to hold all metal objects so they would not be taken from me.
I did not use iodine tablets, I drank from fountains and had no problem. People have, however, mentioned problems in books I have read. You can buy small bottles of water all along the way if you reach a place where you are nervous about the local water.

Am planning my camino in September. A couple of questions: 1) do I need to
bring iodine tablets for the water? 2)flashlight? 3) what did you do about a
swiss army knife w/ the restrictions on airplanes?
Thanks, Mary Catherine
