First, let me introduce myself.
Hello All. I'm Fr. Gerry Fraser, a Catholic priest. I've had the itch to
walk the Camino for about three years, though I've known about it for far
longer. For now, health issues keep me from travelling. God willing, I'll
find a way.
Now, about the crowds during the Jubilee Year. I suspect the 400,000
figure refers to the total number of pilgrims for the year. I can't
remember where I saw it, but just recently I saw a table of the number of
people in Santiago for the Feast day, July 25. I can't recall the exact
numbers, but for this year they had about 24,400 pilgrims. Next year, they
expect about 74,000. That would be the number of pilgrims in Santiago on
July 25th.
I hope this helps.
GC Fraser
