To goretex or not to goretex- that is the question....

hi alex - i also heard that you can weatherproof any type of shoe that is
made with water-proofing agents and compounds. goretex socks are a good idea
if a hiking/running shoe is being used.

I haven't found Gore-tex to be hotter on the feet, but being
completely waterproof to be a boon. It's not just for wet weather --
you can walk straight through shallow streams and stay dry.

Gore-tex or not, boots are highly advisable. Steer clear of running
shoes, you'd be asking for trouble.
