Unless you like cherries better, than mid-June is optimum! :)
 
We also had great weather at this time of the year, and getting a bed wasn't a problem as long as we didn't stay out on the trail much later than 2:30.

	If you go in early september the fruit will be ripe along the way.  I would consider this a significant bonus as there are numerous fruit trees along the way, especially towards the end.  I gorged myself on blackberries everyday that I found them.
