Hi Steve,
St. John the Divine's Cathedral is located at 1047 Amsterdam Avenue, in what
we New Yorkers call "Uptown". It is a huge edifice in the style of medieval
structures that has been in the process of being built for the past one
hundred years or so. They hold many religious, social and cultural activities
there. The Cathedral has become renown for its "Blessing of the Animals", a
Christian observation which takes place once a year, although on different
dates, to recognize our fellow members of the animal kingdom. At Saint
John's, elephants, camels, crocodiles, wolves, tropical birds and all sorts
of animals go up the long central aisle of the Cathedral to the altar to be
blessed. It is quite a sight and spectacle that attracts much attention in
animal-loving New York.
The telephone number of the Cathedral is (212) 316-7400. They can probably
tell you what you want to know.
The video, in Spanish, is called "Edades del hombre; Esperanza y Fe". I
imagine that the name of the (partial) exhibition was altered here to "Ages
of Mankind" to comply with U.S.-style political correctness.
Warm regards,
Rosina
