Linda's book

It has been suggested that Linda and David's book is impractical to
take on the walk. I must admit I have picked it up a few times,
weighed it (it weighs 560g according to my scales) and gone mmmmm - and
thought to leave it behind. But it describes every rock! It's so
through! How can I leave it behind.
One suggestion I think someone posted a while ago was to take the book
and tear out the pages for the places passed. This would mean an
average weight of 280g - more or less (more, really, unless I committed
to memory all the architectural details at the end) This would also
double sales of the book, as people would need to buy another copy when
they got home - which I am sure would please Linda.
Another suggestion is to encourage everyone who has a copy to take it,
but to leave it at a refuge that doesn't have one. That would increase
sales by aboue 100 to 150 and mean that we could scon a "public" copy
each evening.
Or, Linda, how about an India paper edition (with a built in magnifying
glass) so it's no biggger that a small book of poetry (now there's
another necessity. mmmmmm)
Bernard (who hasn't started walking yet)
(can't you tell)
