I have a similar situation and thanks for your suggestion.  I think that's what I will do, combine bus & hike but I would like to have a more complete list of the easy(or safe) laps and the difficult(or dangerous laps).  Also, so one gets the Compostetla certificate as long as the last 100 km is accomplished by foot or 200 km by bike. Is 4-wheel cylcle or tricylcle allowed?
